Fettercairn Youth Horse Project (FYHP) has been working along with My Lovely Horse Rescue (MLHR) helping train some of their rescued ponies and horses.
Molly arrived to FYHP in September as the second pony coming from MLHR. As with the last pony Ruby, Molly was here as part of a training programme. Over the 8 weeks Molly was handled, backed and ridden lightly by the students. Shane Kehoe, one of FYHP’s Stable Hands, mainly looked after her training and did a fantastic job earning Molly’s trust. We knew that she had been mistreated in her previous life but from the great work of MLHR, we could see that Molly was on her way to being the perfect pony.
FYHP’s Valentine remains in the care of MLHR being handled and socialised until she is ready for her own training programme. FYHP hope to train as many ponies as we can to help re-home some of the lovely horses and ponies with MLHR.
