Once you have completed the week’s training you will then be placed in Fettercairn Youth Horse Project for the next 48 weeks where you will train towards your BHS exams. The AIRE website has excellent information on the course; who is eligible, social welfare and support and contact details.
To qualify for this course you must have experience with horses , be hard working and committed. The course also requires you to be able to walk, trot and canter. It is always helpful to complete a week’s trial prior to the course to ensure this is the course for you.
Trainee Sarah Aiken – My year at FYHP was a brilliant experience. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Everyone works as a team to help each individual get through the exams and I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to train there.
