Gary Phillips, in the centre in purple and white, came second in the prestigious Prix Longines Future Racing Stars at Chantilly in France in June 2014. In a race won by fellow RACE graduate, Gary Halpin from Finglas, it was a memorable day for the Irish. The race brings together apprentices from the top racing schools in ten countries. A total of fourteen riders went to post with two representatives from France, UK, Ireland and Italy and one each from Germany, USA, Japan, South Africa, Turkey and Australia.
