On Monday the 18th of May, six staff members of the Fettercairn Youth Horse Project attended training in Festina Lente, Bray Co Wicklow.
This training included preparing to provide tuition to children with challenging behaviour, better understanding of children with special needs i.e. Dyspraxia and Autism, designing lesson plans and the importance of using bitless bridles and rollers in therapeutic riding sessions. It was a full days training with theory and practical sessions. Festina was also very kind in giving us three bitless bridles to try on our horses and ponies which we hope to use in all our future therapeutic riding sessions.
The importance of this training is paramount for FYHP staff to provide quality service in a fun environment.
We would like to thank Jill and Clodagh for all their help and support over the years to FYHP.
